It is a country emerging from a long period of “darkness”. Although the Khmer’s have endured many years of hardship and bloodshed, they haven’t lost their smiles. Many have managed to build up new lives and businesses, thanks to their incredible strength and sense for survival. The richness of the country’s Khmer history and the amazing warmth of the Cambodian people make it a rewarding and special place to travel.

Keep an eye out for traditional Khmer scarves and crafts, silk sarongs antiques and books on the amazing Angkor Wat.Phnom Penh: The capital of Cambodia since the 15th century is a bustling city with over 20 markets, many of which sell beautiful crafts, silver and antiques. Situated in a spectacular location at the confluence of three waterways – the Mekong and Bassac rivers and Tonle Sap, the enormous lake that is so much a part of Cambodia.
